Women's Basketball Travels to Lipscomb for Wednesday ASUN Battle

2/16/2026 1:26:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - It's the final stretch run of the regular season for UWG women's basketball and the Wolves on the road for three of their final four, with the next roadtrip taking the Wolves to Nashville, Tennessee for a Wednesday showdown with Lipscomb.

West Georgia (16-9, 9-5 ASUN) is coming off of a road win, and will look for another on Wednesday against a Lipscomb (9-16, 6-8 ASUN) team that has a bad taste in their mouth after falling at home to Queens last Saturday.

The last win for the Wolves was an impressive one as UWG scored 95 points and shot 66 percent from the field in a 21-point road win over Austin Peay.

Sydne Tolbert scored a career-high 30 and Destiny Jones topped her career-best with 25 in that win, and three other Wolves found double-figures.

Tolbert is now tied for the team lead in scoring with Asia Donald at 14.2 per game. Donald scored 12 points in the win over Austin Peay, as did Jasmine Jones who is third on the team in scoring at 14.1 per game. Jones scored all 12 of her points from the three-point arc and is sixth in the country in three-pointers per game at 3.1.

Destiny Jones is the Wolves' leading rebounder at 8.3 per game, and she has been on a tear recently, averaging 16.8 points and 10.25 rebounds per game over her last four. She was a rebound away on Saturday from a fourth-consecutive double-double.

Lipscomb is led offensively by Molly Heard at 14.3 points per game while McKayla Miller adds 12.3 per game and leads the Bisons with 51 made three-pointers.

Taylor Bowen is Lipscomb's top rebounder at 7.2 boards per game while ranking thir don their team in scoring at 9.0 points per game.

UWG enters the week in a three-way tie for third alongside Stetson and Central Arkansas in the ASUN standings. Lipscomb is tied with Austin Peay for eighth. All 12 ASUN teams will make the tournament in 2026 with the top four teams earning first round byes. The tournament is held March 3-9 in Jacksonville, Florida. Tickets are now on sale.

Tip-off Wednesday in Nashville is set for 7 p.m. from Allen Arena. The game is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+.
