Barlow Named ASUN Track Performer of The Week

CARROLLTON, Ga.- Sophomore standout Gavin Barlow has been named the ASUN Track Performer of the Week, adding another milestone to an already decorated young career at the University of West Georgia.

A native of LaGrange, Georgia and product of LaGrange High School, Barlow entered UWG as a state champion in the long jump and has continued to elevate his performance at the collegiate level. During his freshman season, he quickly established himself as one of the conference's elite competitors, earning second place finishes in the ASUN Indoor 60m and ASUN Outdoor 100m. His performances throughout the year earned him both Indoor and Outdoor MVP honors, along with Freshman of the Year recognition.

Now a returning sophomore, Barlow is building on that momentum. At the Tryon Mid-Winter Collegiate Invitational, he delivered multiple impressive performances to secure ASUN Track Performer of the Week honors. Barlow opened the 60 meters with a second place finish in the preliminary round, clocking a 6.83 to qualify for the finals. In the championship heat, he surged to a winning time of 6.75, claiming first place in Tryon. He followed that performance in the long jump, soaring to a winning mark of 7.35 meters to conclude a dominant weekend across multiple events.
