UWG Set for ASUN Indoor Championships in Louisville

CARROLLTON, Ga.- After nearly a four-month indoor campaign, the University of West Georgia women's track and field team is set for the final meet of the 2025-26 indoor season, traveling to Louisville, Kentucky for the ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 27-28. The two-day championship will be held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center, as the Wolves look to cap its indoor season with strong conference performances. 

Sprints & Hurdles
The sprint group has been a consistent strength all season, led by multiple record holders and top conference marks. Kellie Walker enters the 60m with a 7.66 mark and the 200m at 24.99, holding the UWG program record in the 200m. Campbell Brown, the school record holder in the 60m, brings in a 7.68 entry and will also compete in the 200m with a 25.85 mark. Lia Long follows in the 60m at 8.07 and 200m at 26.50, while Genesis Price rounds out the 60m at 8.18 and 200m at 26.88.

In the 400m, Ty Daniel leads the group with a 57.45 entry and holds the current UWG school record in the event. She is followed by Chloe Leblanc at 58.95, who owns the UWG program records in both the 600m and 800m. 

Over the hurdles, Kierra McKenna enters the 60m hurdles with a 9.33 mark, and Valeyna Renteria-Silva brings in a 9.59 entry. The 4x400m relay squad enters the championship with a season best time of 4:02.30, while the distance medley relay brings in a 12:40.42 mark after setting a new UWG school record in the event at the Tryon Mid-Winter Collegiate Invitational. 

Distance
UWG's distance crew will be a key factor in Louisville, highlighted by school record performances throughout the season. In the 800m, Linda Rivero enters with a time of 2:27.03. Reatta Danhof, the UWG record holder in the mile, brings in a 5:06.78 entry after a historic indoor campaign. Over longer distances, Kathrin Maurer enters the 3000m at 10:52.74, while Catherine Greer follows at 11:05.50.

Jumps, Throws, & Vaults
The field events have been another area of record-breaking success for UWG throughout the indoor season. In the high jump, Bella Jones enters the ASUN Championships with a mark of 1.55m. The pole vault group is led by UWG record holder Carleigh Bynum, who brings in a 3.63m entry, while Mallory Peavey follows at 3.26m.

In the long jump, Genesis Price, who also contributes in the sprints, enters with a 4.86m mark, while Kierra McKenna follows closely at 4.78m, giving the Wolves additional scoring opportunities in the horizontal jumps.

In the shot put, Day Atkins leads with a 13.69m mark. Dru Green enters at 12.60m, Leilah Mathieu at 10.39m, and Ariana Hale at 8.76m. The weight throw group is headlined by Dru Green at 16.83m. Day Atkins follows closely at 16.62m, with Kyla Ford at 16.00m, Leilah Mathieu at 13.53m, and Ariana Hale at 11.49m.

With school records falling throughout the winter and eight current program record holders competing, the Wolves enter the ASUN Indoor Championships ready to make a statement. After months of preparation, Louisville marks the final opportunity to showcase the program's continued rise as UWG closes the 2025-26 indoor season on the conference stage. 

UWG is led by Head Coach Ryan Bailey alongside sprints, jumps, and hurdles coach Shanicka Dyson-Woodman, pole vault coach Shannon Riley, throws coach Robert Brown, and graduate assistants Phelani Maduwa and Olivia Fulford.
