UWG Places Eighth in ASUN Indoor Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The University of West Georgia women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships, recording three personal records and two UWG school records to conclude the meet. The Wolves totaled 19 points overall, finishing eighth in the team standings and closing the indoor season with momentum heading into the outdoor campaign.

Field Events
The day began in the high jump, where Bella Jones represented UWG as the lone competitor. Jones cleared 1.47m to open the final day of competition for the Wolves.

In the shot put, Day Atkins led the trio with a throw of 12.37m. She was followed by Dru Green at 10.57m, while Ariana Hale added a season best mark of 9.06m to round out the group's efforts.

UWG also competed in the triple jump, where Jordan Kelly paced the Wolves with a mark of 11.04m. Alyvia Matthews followed closely with a 10.41m effort to add to West Georgia's field event performances.

Running Events
Reatta Danhof recorded a personal best and school record performance of 4:57.99, earning a sixth place finish.

In the 400m final, Ty Daniel continued her standout season by breaking her own UWG record with a blazing 55.55. Daniel's performance marked the second school record of the day.

The 3000m final saw Kathrin Maurer lead the Wolves with a season best time of 10:45.08, while Catherine Greer added a personal record of 10:47.65 to round out the Wolves lineup. 

UWG closed the meet in the 4x400m relay, where the team of Ty Daniel, Jordan Jarnot, Elise Duncanson, and Linda Rivero combined for a time of 4:00.27 to conclude the championship.

With the indoor season officially complete, West Georgia turns its attention to the outdoor slate, beginning at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech on March 20-21.
