Campbell, Lane, and McLain Earn ASUN All-Academic Honors

CARROLLTON, Ga.- Three members of the University of West Georgia men's track and field program have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom, earning ASUN All-Academic honors. These student-athletes have demonstrated excellence both on the track and in the classroom.

Trey Campbell is a junior Health & Community Wellness major from Villa Rica, Georgia, who holds a 3.54 GPA. Campbell recently ran a season best time of 22.12 in the 200 meters and helped UWG earn second place in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:16.60 at the ASUN Championships, the program's fastest time in the event since 1981.

Nicholas Lane, a junior interdisciplinary studies major from Albany, Georgia, carries a 3.50 GPA. Lane is the current UWG record holder in the weight throw with a mark of 15.04 meters set in 2025. During the ASUN Indoor Championships, he recorded marks of 12.34 meters in the shot put and 13.25 meters in the weight throw.

Connor McLain, a junior transfer from Kennesaw State, is a nursing major from Marietta, Georgia, and maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA. McLain delivered an impressive performance at the ASUN Championships, placing fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.52 meters and finishing in the top five in all but two meets this season.

Together, Campbell, Lane, and McLain exemplify what it means to be a UWG student-athlete, by successfully balancing academics and athletics.
