UWG Men's Golf to Compete in 20th Linger Longer Invitational

3/19/2026 1:00:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Friday will mark the biggest tournament and the best field ever faced in the history of the UWG men's golf program when the Wolves tee off in the 20th Annual Linger Longer Invitational atGreat Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Eatonton.

The Wolves are one of 18 teams in a field that features seven Power Four teams and it's a tournament with a rich history and tradition. Over the past two decades, the Linger Longer Invitational has served as a launching pad for PGA TOUR standouts including Justin Thomas (Alabama), Rickie Fowler (Oklahoma State), Scottie Scheffler (Texas), Brooks Koepka (Florida State), Harris English (Georgia), and Nick Dunlap (Alabama).

Head coach Shannon Lipham's lineup at the Jack Nicklaus-designed course at Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee is the same that ground out a sixth-place finish at UGA's Southern Intercollegiate on Monday and it's a quick turnaround.

Fortunately for Milton Wallin, Max Winnersjo, Thomas Romani, Jeremy Edmunds, and Luke Able, it's a much more favorable forecast than the temperatures and elements they faced Monday in Athens.

It should be two beautiful days for golf for the Wolves, and the strong field that features 11 top-100 programs in the latest Clippd Rankings and three ranked in the top-20.
