NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The UWG men's golf team lacked about five holes from completing their second round before darkness suspended play with the Wolves sitting in 12th place at The Surf Club Invitational hosted by App State.
West Georgia opened play with a three-over 287 on the par-71 layout of The Surf Golf and Beach Club, and were three-over par with five to six holes remaining in round number two.
The highlight of the day was Milton Wallin who shot one-under 70 in the opening round and was three-under par in his second round when play was suspended.His second hole of round two was a hole-in-one on the 197-yard, par three 13th hole. Wallin is in sixth-place individually.
Thomas Romani had the low round for the Wolves in the opening round, firing a three-under 68. Romani was four-over in round two and has four holes remaining. The sophomore sits in 45th place.
After an opening round 76, Jeremy Edmunds righted the ship and played 14 holes of round two at even par with two birdies and two bogeys. Edmunds is in 71st place individually.
Rounding out the lineup was Tyler Nesci in 80th and Max Winnersjo in 95th. Nesci opened with a 75 and Winnersjo carded a 74. Winnersjo was six-over in round two while Nesci was holding steady at two-over with four to play.
The Wolves will come back and wrap up round two tomorrow morning and look to climb the leaderboard. UWG is seven shots out of the top-10. Georgia State currently leads the event by seven strokes over Elon.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with a third and final round after teams complete round two.
