Three School Records Broken in Day Two of Atlanta Opener

ATLANTA, Ga.- The University of West Georgia women's track and field team opened the outdoor season in impressive fashion at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech, securing three school records and four top-five finishes on day two.

Sprints & Hurdles
The Wolves saw a strong showing from their freshman class in the 200m, as Kellie Walker led the way with a fourth place finish at 24.35, followed closely by Elise Duncanson in fifth at 24.49. Ty Daniel added a solid performance, clocking 24.84. Duncanson continued her standout weekend in the 400m, breaking a UWG school record that had stood since 2016 with a time of 54.84, placing her among the top 40 nationally this season. Daniel followed with a time of 56.08. In the 400m hurdles, Chloe Leblanc delivered a record breaking performance, finishing third at 1:00.31. The mark not only set a new UWG record but also ranks her among the top 15 nationally this season.

Distance
Reatta Danhof added to the record breaking weekend in the 800m, clocking 2:16.50 to secure another UWG school record, her second in as many days. Linda Rivero followed at 2:25.86, while Jordan Jarnot rounded out the top three for the Wolves with a time of 2:30.35.

Relays
The 4x100m relay team of Lia Long, Kellie Walker, Genesis Price, and Campbell Brown earned a podium finish, placing third with a time of 47.43. In the 4x400m relay, the team of Reatta Danhof, Linda Rivero, Linda Vasquez, and Jordan Jarnot recorded a time of 4:15.94.

Jumps, Vaults, & Throws
Bella Jones represented UWG in the high jump, clearing 1.52m. In the pole vault, Carleigh Bynum posted a mark of 3.45m. Alyvia Matthews led the Wolves in the triple jump with a mark of 11.38m, followed by Jordan Kelly at 10.83m. In the discus, Day Atkins paced UWG with a throw of 43.64m, while Dru Green added a mark of 41.45m.

Up Next
West Georgia concluded day two of the Yellow Jacket Invitational with three school records and four top five finishes, marking a successful start to the outdoor season. The Wolves will return to action on April 3, hosting their next meet at the UWG Track & Field Complex.
