GLENCOE, Ala. - UWG women's golf fired a 312 on Monday in the second round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic, but still climbed three spots on the leaderboard to begin Tuesday's final round in ninth place.
The Wolves, who have a 36-hole total of 623, began Monday in 12th place, and are eight shots out of the top-five with just 18 holes to play.
One Wolf, Sofia Mondragon, is in the top-15 despite a second round 80 that featured two birdies. Sophie Dhaliwal and Emma Baier shot the same score for the second straight round, firing a 77 and are tied for 27th. Each made two birdies on the par-72 Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Silver Lakes.
Hannah Barrett shot a 78 on Monday, limiting the damage with just six bogeys and 12 pars. She begins her final round in 50th place.
Rounding out the lineup was Anna Olesen who shot an 83 on Monday and sits in 67th place.
UWG is eight shots behind Longwood who sits in fifth. Between the Wolves and Lancers is Indiana State in sixth, Samford in seventh, and Akron in eighth.
The final round is set for tomorrow from RTJ Silver Lakes in Glencoe, Alabama.
