CARROLLTON, Ga. -  The ASUN action continues at Cole Field this weekend with West Georgia baseball hosting Queens in the final home conference series of the season. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, and the live streaming links are tagged on the UWG baseball schedule.

With UWG (11-34, 8-13 ASUN) riding a nine-game losing streak, while Queens (12-31, 8-13 ASUN) is on a four-game losing skid, both teams look to get back on track before it's too late to earn the final spot in the ASUN Championship Tournament.

With the top-four teams from both divisions earning a bid, UWG and Queens currently sit one game behind Stetson, tied for fifth in the Graphite Division.

In the last head-to-head, West Georgia claimed a 2-1 series win over the Royals in Charlotte to put UWG up 4-2 in the all-time series count.

Looking at both teams' pitching, UWG has posted an 8.84 ERA while QU has posted a slightly better 7.62 ERA.

Going into the final home series, the UWG pitching rotation is a little up in the air.

Sophomore righty Maverick Torres will likely open the series making his 10th start of the season. Totaling 48 innings on the mound through 14 appearances, Torres has recorded a 6.56 ERA, a 2-4 record and 38 strikeouts.

Senior righty Lex Kenny is expected to make his 11th start of the season in game two. Amassing 64 frames on the mound across 12 appearances, Kenny has recorded a 4.78 ERA, a 4-4 record and 47 strikeouts.

Sunday's pitcher for UWG is currently undecided.

While Queens has not announced their starters,  they have recently gone with righty Jackson Gowan in the opener, lefty Joey Ruller in game two and righty Jake Young as the series closer.

Through 12 appearances, Gowan has tallied a 5.40 ERA, a 1-5 record and struck out 32 batters. Ruller has recorded a 4.98 ERA, a 2-8 record and struck out a team-high 60 batters in his 12 appearances on the mound. Switching between serving as a closer and a starter throughout the season, Young has played in 15 games, posting a 6.32 ERA, a 2-2 record with a team-high four saves and has struck out 31 batters.

Moving to the batter's box, junior David Bell is coming off a statement series vs Stetson this past weekend. Against the Hatters, Bell totaled ten RBIs, eight runs, seven hits, of which four were homers and one was a double. For this weekend of play, Bell was listed on DIBaseball.com's Week 11 Top Performers list. He currently posts a .280 batting average and a .931 OPS while tallying 30 hits, 29 RBIs, 27 runs, 10 doubles and seven homers.

It wasn't just Bell who put together a solid weekend at the plate, third baseman Patrick McCullough finished the series recording eight hits, three runs and one RBI. This feat becomes even more impressive when you take into account that three of those hits were doubles. McCullough now leads the team in hits (72), runs (35), RBIs (27), multi-hit games (21), doubles (14), triples (2), OPS (.990) and batting average (.389). These figures rank McCullough first in the ASUN in hits, second in batting average and fifth in doubles. He is also currently on a 26-game reached base streak that has been fueled by an eight-game hitting streak.

Pushing the pace for the Royals at the plate is junior first baseman Grayson Childers. Posting a .303 batting average, Childers leads Queens in hits (40), runs (21), RBIs (21), doubles (12), homers (7) and OPS (1.002). Despite the team-leading figures, Childers has recently fallen into a cold streak. Over the past two series, the infielder tallied only two hits in 21 at-bats.

As a team, UWG has recorded a .261 batting average, .347 on-base percentage and a .410 slugging percentage while averaging 5.3 runs per game. Queens has posted a .222 batting average, .315 on-base percentage and a .348 slugging percentage while averaging 3.5 runs per game.
