Strong Start in Starkville for UWG Track & Field

STARKVILLE, MS.- West Georgia wrapped up day one of the Maroon and White Tune Up with two top-five finishes through three events and will look to build momentum heading into day two in Starkville.

The hammer throw opened the day for the Wolves, with Darius Mcneal leading the group with a mark of 45.84m. Nicholas Lane followed with a throw of 44.65m, while Aiden Willis recorded a mark of 41.36m. In the discus, Willis led West Georgia with a throw of 35.66m, and Matthew Brunner followed as the second finisher for UWG with a mark of 28.23m.

Aiden Thaxton paced with a third-place finish in the 5000m, crossing the line in 15:37.08. Solomon Johnson followed with a time of 15:47.25, while Noah Anderson narrowly missed a top-five finish at 18:05.16. Alex Njoroge finished just behind Anderson at 18:05.17.
