Lipham Announces Incoming Freshmen for 2026-27 Roster

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Head men's golf coach Shannon Lipham has added a fourth incoming freshman to his 2026 signing class for the 2026-27 Wolves' golf roster.

Alabama native Gus Darnall will begin his UWG career this fall alongside previously signed 2026 high school graduates JP Groat, Reid Rockett, and Dallas Inch.

"These four young men will make an immediate impact here at the University of West Georgia," said Lipham. "This is the best recruiting class we've ever put together at UWG and I'm really looking forward to seeing their growth and development as they begin their collegiate careers."

Darnall played at Vestavia Hills High School where the Rebels won a State Title in his junior and senior seasons. Individually, Darnall finished tied for fifth in the 2026 State Championship with rounds of 69 and 72. He was four shots behind fellow signee Reid Rockett who took third with rounds of 65 and 72.

Rockett, a graduate of Hoover High School, signed back in November, as did Mentone, Alabama native JP Groat. Both Rockett and Groat qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2025 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. Groat was also to Alabama State Match Play Champion in 2025.

The fourth signee coming in as a freshman is Dallas Inch who comes to Carrollton all the way from York, Pennsylvania. Inch competed on multiple junior circuits and won the Orange County Junior Open at Eagle Creek in Orlando in the summer of 2025.

These four will begin their careers in Carrollton this fall. The full 2026-27 schedule will be released later this summer.
