CARROLLTON, Ga. - Fresh off a third-place finish in Kentucky, the UWG women's golf team is set for another lengthy road trip, traveling to Columbia, Missouri to compete in Mizzou's Johnie Imes Invitational.
The tournament is a 54-hole event featuring nine teams including the Wolves with the host Tigers representing the only Power Four institution. Mizzou is hosting the event at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
Head coach Will Snodgrass will roll to Missouri with the same five that finished third at The Velvet, shooting rounds of 294, 297, and 300. The Wolves will shift the order, sending Sofia Mondragon out at the number one spot.
Mondragon posted a career-best runner-up finish in Kentucky, shooting rounds of 72, 73, and 74. She will be followed by Emma Baier and Sophie Dhaliwal in the two and three spots. Baier and Dhaliwal each finished 10th individually at The Velvet.
Alba Caliz Rejas will be in the fourth spot, followed by Anna Olesen. Caliz Rejas finished 23rd last time out while Olesen finished 45th, but had the Wolves' lowest round of the day in the final round in Kentucky, firing a 72.
Alongside UWG and Missouri, the field features UAB, South Dakota State, Lindenwood, Missouri State, South Dakota, East Texas A&M, and McLennan Community College.
UWG will play a practice round on Sunday and open tournament play on Monday with two rounds and conclude the event with a final round on Tuesday.
