Baseball Travels to Milledgeville

Carrollton, GA - After coming off an early Gulf South Conference matchup against Alabama-Huntsville in which the Wolves were able to salvage game two of the series, UWG now prepares for a four game away stretch beginning with the Georgia College Bobcats which will be played at 3:00PM on Tuesday.

West Georgia at a Glace
Heading into the road game on Tuesday, the Wolves currently sit at a record of 4-6 overall and 1-2 in the GSC. The Wolves pitching performed well this past weekend with Cody Skinner pitching an excellent game one against UAH, and then again with Jamie Sexton pitching a complete game in game two to pick up his first win of the season. However, the offense was a bit stagnant at times, so the Wolves look to get hot on offense in Milledgeville, and carry that momentum into this weekend against GSC opponent University of West Alabama.

Georgia College at a Glance
Georgia College has started off the 2014 season with a 4-2 record. They started the season with a three game series against King University (school out of Bristol, TN) in which they swept the series. The Bobcats outscored them 31-6. They then turned up the heat playing the #1 team in the nation, Tampa, and were able to steal game two at home from them. Heading into their last series, Georgia College was ranked #32.

West Georgia Players to Watch
Bobcat's pitching staff should be well aware of when Wolve's Jojo Underwood steps up to the plate. To date, Underwood leads the Wolves with eleven hits and also has a solid .344 batting average. They should also keep their eyes peeled for West Georgia's short stop Troy Brown. Brown has been moving his way around the bases, leading the Wolves in runs scored with 13. Part of his success has stemmed from him being successful on getting good leads and jumps on pitchers, as he is 5-5 on stolen bases thus far.

Georgia College Players to Watch
The Bobcats offense played very well in their opening series against King University, but then became somewhat staggered in their last series against Tampa. The Wolve's pitching should be careful against the Bobcat's centerfielder Rob Hogenkamp. In Hogenkamp's last game against Tampa, he was the lone multi-hit performer, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. The Wolves should also be aware of Rightfielder Jake Sandlin. In the first game against Tampa, Sandlin finished 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, driving in four and scoring twice.

2013 Matchup
The Wolves and the Bobcats split the two games they played last year. The Wolves won the first game 8-1 in Carrollton, but lost the second matchup 9-6 on the road.
