Carrollton, GA - The University of West Georgia played host to Georgia College this afternoon in their second matchup of the year. Much like in the last game, the Bobcats offense was unstoppable as they racked up seventeen runs, beating the Wolves by a final score of 17-1.
West Georgia threw five different pitchers on the mound in the game, but struggled to find an answer for the hot-swinging Bobcats.
Taylor Craft started the game for the Wolves, but only lasted until the middle of the second inning, as
Ashley Claxton came in for relief.
Georgia College put up a total of seven runs in the first four innings of the game, three in the sixth, and then seven more in the top of the ninth inning.
The Wolves lone run came in the bottom of the third inning, as
Shaquille Jackson reached first on a two out hit to third base. He was able to advance to third on a sinlge to right field from
Troy Brown.
Sumner McWhorter continued the two out rally with a double to left center that scored Jackson from third.
One positive that came from the game was Jackson's one hit in the bottom of the third inning that kept his hitting streak alive and up to eight games.
The Wolves move to a record of 5-10 on the season as they now prepare to take on Lee University in Cleveland, TN in this weekends three-game series.
