Nashville, Tenn. - The UWG men's track and field team has concluded the final day at the Vanderbilt Invitational after competing in six events.
Heptathlon
Matthew Brunner finishes in 8th place in the Heptathlon with a score of 3439. Brunner competed in the 60m hurdle and the 1000m run, taking first place with a time of 2:43.60.
Shot Put
In the Men's shot put, Joshua Still placed 18th with a 8.36m throw.
60m
In the Men's 60m, Jeremiah Giddens was the lone wolf who competed in the 60m relay and placed 37th with a time of 7.17.
Men's One Mile
There were three West Georgia representatives that competed in the mile run.
Felipe Barrios was the first of the three to cross the finish line as he placed 36th with a time of 4:20.65. Tim Feezor was next for the Wolves as he finished with a time of 4:32.94 while Derek Gallaedo recorded a time of 4:38.04.
Men's 800m
Joshua Sleight, Eduardo Ortiz, and Anthony Garcia represented UWG in the 800m race. Sleight finished with a time of 2:03.60, while Ortiz finished with a time of 2:07.30. Garcia was right behind him, crossing with a time of 2:07.69.
Men's 3000m
Griffin Stephens was the first of the three Wolves to cross the finish line as he placed 38th with a time of 8:42.49. Felipe Barrios was next as he finished with a time of 8:48.95. Mehari Van Der Riet followed suit, crossing the finish line in 9:11.43 minutes.
West Georgia will be back on Sunday, February 4 at 9:00 am for the South Alabama Invitational.
