Nashville, Tenn. - The UWG women's track and field team concluded Day Two of the Vanderbilt Invitational after competing in 10 events.
Another Day, Another School Record
For the second time in many days, there is another school record holder in the books. Kristal McQueen broke the school record in the mile run with a time of 5:22.00. She also secured the school record for the 5000m with a time of 18:19.91 on day one of the Invitational.
Women's 60m hurdle
Chioma Uwaomah finished with a time of 9.52, while Veleyna Renteri-Silva was next, finishing with a time of 9.63. Olivia Fulford closed out the event with a time of 10.82.
Women's 60m
Kira Montefusco finished in the top-30, placing 27th with a time of 7.86. Dasani Minter finished with a time of 8.14.
Women's One Mile
Other than McQueen's record breaking performance, Catherine Greer recorded a time of 5:47.85 while Stephanie Beltran finished with a time of 6:12.21.
Women's Triple Jump
Haley Trammell placed 11th with a 11.66 jump with T'oni Birden finishing right behind her, placing 12th with a 11.65 jump.
Women's Pole Vault
Two Wolves competed in the Pole Vault competition, placing 15th and 16th, respectively. Emily Jones and Carliegh Bynum both recorded a throw of 3.07.
Women's Shot Put
Three West Georgia representatives competed in the shot put event. Melita-Marie Roachford placed 25th with a throw of 11.44m while Dru Green was next with a 10.59m throw, placing 27th. Kyla Ford had a 10.07m throw, placing 32nd.
Women's 400m
Two Wolves competed in the 400m with Shamiya Perry crossing the finish line with a time of 1:02.22. Chloe Leblanc came in after, recording a time of 1:03.07.
Women's 800m
Jocelyn Tifrea placed 49th with a time of 2:32.64. Kathrin Maurer was the next one to cross the finish line at a time of 2:36.34 placing 52nd. Jordan Jarnot was the last Wolve to finish placing 55th a time of 2:42.85
Women's 3000m
UWG had two competitors that competed in the 3000m. Laney Pierce finished with a time of 11:55.16 before Madeline Gaskin finished with a time of 11:59.88.
Women's 4x400
Jaeva Ridley, Chloe Leblanc, Veleyna Renteri- Silva, and Shamiya Perry competed in the 4x400, placing 21st with a time of 4:10.45.
West Georgia will be back on Sunday, February 4 at 9:00 am for the South Alabama Invitational.
