KENNESAW, Ga. - A pair of third place finishes in the triple jump and the 100m dash highlighted the final day of action for the UWG men's track and field team at the Don McGarey Invitational at Kennesaw State.
JUMPS
William Shawley had a great performance in the triple jump, taking third place with a jump of 14.49m in his final attempt. Richard Griffin placed 12th in the event with a jump of 12.65m.
Shawley took 13th in the long jump with a leap of 6.50m while Matthew Brunner's 6.33m jump was good for 15th. Trevor Fair finished 22nd and Richard Griffin took 25th. In the high jump, Matthew Brunner finished 13th.
SPRINTS AND HURDLES
It was a solid third place finish in the 100m dash for Jeremiah Giddens, clocking in at 11.06, and was less than half a second off of first place.Â
West Georgia's lone representative in the 110m hurdles was Matthew Brunner who ran 17.60, good for a 13th place finish.
DISTANCE
Two runners, Joshua Sleight and Tim Feezor finished in the top-15 of the 800m run with Sleight taking 10th with a time of 2:00.52 while Feezor's time of 2:00.64 gave him a 12th-place finish. Mehari van der Riet and Anthony Garcia finished 19th and 22nd, respectively.Â
