EMPORIA, Kan. - A special sophomore campaign came to a close for the University of West Georgia Track and Field's T'oni Birden on Friday after the conclusion of the Triple Jump Outdoor National Championships.
After becoming a two-time All-American in the Long Jump on Thursday, Birden ended her 2024 Outdoor season, by placing 16th in the Triple Jump with a 12.18m mark.
Birden hit marks of 11.79m and 11.78m in her first two jumps, before leaping for 12.18m in her final jump. Pittsburg State's Auna Childress secured the National Championship after jumping 13.26m.
Birden concludes one of the greatest Track and Field seasons in school history, becoming a two-time All-American, a two-time South All-Region selection, three total GSC Track Athlete of the Week selections, the GSC Field Athlete of the Year, and a GSC All-Academic selection.
