CARROLLTON, Ga.- For the first time in program history, West Georgia women's track and field claimed all three ASUN weekly awards with Chloe Leblanc taking Track Athlete of the Week, Dru Green claiming Field Athlete of the Week and Day Atkins rounding out the honors by earning Freshman of the Week.
At the Catamount Classic (April 25-26), Leblanc crushed the competition in the 400m hurdles with a record-setting time of 1:01.22, breaking Amina Saunders' school record of 1:01.31 set back in 2019. Leblanc's mark is the second-best time by an ASUN athlete this season.
At the same meet, Green's first-place discus throw of 45.66m not only set a new UWG record, it was also the best throw by an ASUN athlete this season. This broke the previous school record of 45.43m recently set by Atkins.
While it was not her furthest throw of the season, Atkins' third-place discus toss of 44.93m at the Catamount Classic was still the best throw by an ASUN freshman this year, traveling 3.34m further than the next. At the same meet, Atkins' 46.69m hammer throw also marked the furthest by a freshman in the conference, outside of her 46.70m PR.
As previously noted, this sweep of the ASUN weekly awards marks the first-time UWG has ever achieved this feat.
The Catamount Classic marked the final regular season event of the 2025 campaign. The Wolves take a short break before heading to Florida next month to compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship (May 15-17).
