West Georgia Men’s Basketball Signs Matija Žužić

CARROLLTON, Ga.- Head men's basketball coach Dave Moore reported today that Matija Žužić has officially signed to play at the University of West Georgia.

Transferring in from UT Martin, the 6-7 senior wing out of Belgrade, Serbia, has been a proven playmaker throughout his collegiate career.

"We are really excited to add Matija Žužić to the UWG MBB Family! Matija is a long 6'7 wing with tremendous versatility," said coach Moore on the newest Wolf, "He can shoot it with range and is an excellent passer for his size. Matija has had great coaching in Junior College and at UT Martin. He is poised to make a big leap forward in his game this season and we can't wait to work with him!"

In his lone season with the Skyhawks (2024-25), Žužić appeared in 32 games and started in 24, averaging 7.9 points while hitting 42 percent from the field and 37 percent from deep. In addition to his solid scoring production, Žužić averaged 2.8 rebounds per game while totaling 20 assists, 15 steals and eight blocks.

Recording 13 double-digit scoring performances this past season, the wing was a key contributor for the UT Martin offense. Some highlights include a season-high 21-point performance against Kentucky Christian and a 19-point, nine-rebound night against Alabama State, a team that would later make the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to playing at UT Martin, the Serb spent two years competing at Eastern Florida State College, helping the Titans go 49-15 and win a Citrus Conference Championship in his final season in Florida (2023-24). In the wake of the championship campaign, Žužić was voted as a First Team All-Conference selection, after averaging 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists while starting all 29 of his games. He also led the Titans from deep that year with 80 three-pointers, connecting on a solid 41 percent.

Žužić joins Micah Smith as the 2025 classes' second signee.
