Track & Field Set for Outdoor Opener in Atlanta

CARROLLTON, Ga.- The University of West Georgia women's track and field team opens the outdoor season this weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia, set for Friday, March 20 through Saturday, March 21. 

Sprints & Hurdles
The Wolves sprint group is led by school record holder Campbell Brown in the 100m with an entry time of 11.87. Kellie Walker will join her in the event with an entry of 11.91. Lia Long and Genesis Price both enter without an entry time, but will also compete in the 100m. 

Brown will also lead the way in the 200m with an entry of 24.72, followed closely by Walker at 24.81, Ty Daniel at 25.95, Elise Duncanson at 26.0, Chloe Leblanc at 26.0, Long at 26.31, Price at 26.88, Jaeva Ridley at 27.19, Empress Malone at 28.17, and Kierra McKenna who does not have an entry time. 

In the 400m, Daniel headlines the group with a 55.18 entry while Duncanson follows with a time of 58.55. Malone and McKenna will compete in the 100m hurdles for the Wolves, and both enter the Yellow Jacket Invitational without an entry time. Leblanc, the UWG record holder in the 400m hurdles, will compete with an entry of 1:00.64. Malone, McKenna, and Ridley will also compete in the 400m hurdles with no entry time. 

Relays
The Wolves will also bring a competitive relay group, featuring one 4x100m relay team with an entry of 47.28 and two 4x400m relay teams that each enter with a time of 4:00.

Jumps, Vaults, & Throws
In the high jump, Bella Jones is the lone competitor for UWG and enters with a mark of 1.55m. The pole vault group is led by school record holder Carleigh Bynum, who enters with a mark of 3.75m, while Mallory Peavey adds depth with a 3.26m entry. In the long jump, Genesis Price will compete with a mark of 4.86m, while Alyvia Matthews leads the triple jump group with an entry of 11.45m and Jordan Kelly follows with a mark of 11.24m.

In the throws, Day Atkins leads the way as the UWG record holder in the discus and enters the meet with marks of 13.69m in the shot put, 45.71m in the discus, and 49.21m in the hammer throw. Dru Green will compete in the discus with a mark of 45.66m and the hammer with a mark of 48.10m, while Kyla Ford adds to the group with entries of 45.06m in the hammer and 24.03m in the javelin. Ariana Hale and Leilah Mathieu round out the group, and will compete in the discus and hammer. 

Distance
In the 800m, Reatta Danhof enters with a time of 2:14 to lead UWG, while Linda Rivero follows with a 2:23.10 mark, Jordan Jarnot enters at 2:32.40, Linda Vasquez brings in a 2:35.63 mark, and Camille Moses rounds out the group with a time of 2:39. 

Danhof will also headline the 1500m with a converted mark of 4:35.91, while Kristal McQueen enters with a 5:10 mark, Jarnot at 5:15, and Rivero at 5:19. In the 5000m, Catherine Greer leads the Wolves with an entry of 18:50, followed by Laney Pierce at 19:48.46 and Madeline Gaskin at 19:59. The distance group will also compete in the 3000m steeplechase and led by UWG record holder Kathrin Maurer, who enters with a time of 11:33.66 and will be followed by Haley Hartman
