UWG Men's Golf Travels to GolfWeek Fall Challenge

CARROLLTON, Ga. - UWG men's golf has very little time to rest after their first tournament as the Wolves hit the road today for tournament number two, the Golfweek Fall Challenge at True Blue Golf Club in Pawley's Island, S.C. 

West Georgia is coming off of a seventh-place finish at the Augusta Jaguar Invitational to open their season, and the Wolves posted two top-15 individual finishes. 

The top three finishers at that tournament were JP Groat (12th), Thomas Romani (15th), and Luke Able (21st) are the top three in the lineup this week at True Blue Golf Club. Groat shot rounds of 72-71-71 in his first ever collegiate tournament while Romani finished one shot behind him with rounds of 72-72-71. Able was playing the event as an individual and shot 78-71-70 to open his junior season. 

Hayden Canary and Reid Rockett round out the Wolves' lineup in the four and five spots. Both were in the lineup at Forest Hills making their UWG debuts. 

UWG is one of 16 teams in the field at True Blue Golf Club. The Wolves are one of three teams from the United Athletic Conference, joined by Eastern Kentucky and Central Arkansas. Georgia State, Mercer, and Georgia Southern join the field representing the state of Georgia. 

The Wolves will play a practice round on Saturday before opening tournament play on Sunday with the first of three rounds. Monday features round two with the final round set for Tuesday from Pawleys Island, S.C.
