Wolves Men’s Basketball Picks Up Aleix Sempere

7/1/2026 12:30:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga.- UWG men's basketball head coach Dave Moore announced today that junior college transfer Aleix Sempere signed to compete for the Wolves.

Hailing from Badalona, Spain, Sempere is a 6-foot-8 forward who has spent the past two seasons competing for Iowa Central, a Division II junior college.

"Aleix is a talented 6'8" combo forward who had a very good career at Iowa Central CC. He is a volume rebounder with position versatility. He has a high ceiling and is just scratching the surface of who he can be as a player," Moore stated about the newest Wolf. "Aleix will come in and make an immediate impact for us this season. We can't wait to get to work with him!"

During his sophomore campaign, the forward averaged 14.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game on a stellar 63 percent field goal clip. Sempere finished the year leading the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference in rebounding, and he was the only player in the league to average a double-double. This excellent season earned him Third Team All-American honors as well as First Team All-Region. He also collected DII Men's NJCAA Basketball Player of the Week honors after recording 19 points and 17 rebounds on 60 percent three-point shooting in a lone game in early January.

In his freshman season, Sempere averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.

Sempere joins college transfers Lou Hutchinson, Amir Williams, Justin Redmond and Juaquin Dixon, and high school signees TJ Farrington and Jaylin Sweat in the UWG 2026 class.
